Bus Cyprus is designed to respect your privacy. We do not collect, store, or process personal information. The App provides public transport information and maps that work entirely on your device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• User accounts or profiles
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Advertising identifiers
• Location history
• Browsing behavior

3. Location Data

If you grant permission, the App may access your device location to:

• Display nearby bus stops
• Support route planning
• Improve navigation accuracy

4. Device Information

The App may access basic device information for functionality purposes:

• Device model and operating system version
• App version

This information remains on your device and is NOT transmitted to us or third parties.

5. Third-Party Services

a) Map Display (OpenStreetMap)

The App uses MapLibre, an open-source mapping library, to display interactive maps with data from OpenStreetMap.

How it works:

• Map rendering occurs entirely on your device
• Map images (tiles) are loaded from OpenStreetMap servers

Data transmitted to OpenStreetMap:

• Map coordinates and zoom level being viewed
• Device IP address (technical requirement for network requests)
• Basic device information (User-Agent header)

OpenStreetMap Foundation does not track individual users or create user profiles. Tile requests are logged temporarily for operational purposes (preventing abuse, ensuring service quality).

b) Bus Schedule Data

The App may load bus route and schedule information from external sources or our server. When loading this data:

• Your IP address may be transmitted (technical requirement)
• Requested route or stop information
• No user tracking or profiling occurs

6. Data Security

Since we do not collect or store personal data on servers, there is minimal security risk. All app functionality occurs on your device.

We implement reasonable technical measures to ensure app integrity and security.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is designed to be safe for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU).

If we become aware that personal data from a child has been provided, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians may contact us regarding any concerns.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & Data Protection)

Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no user data to access, modify, or delete.

However, you have the right to:

• Request information about data processing
• Contact us with privacy questions or concerns
• File a complaint with your local data protection authority

9. International Data Transfers

When loading map tiles from OpenStreetMap, data may be transmitted to servers located in various countries, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA).

These transfers are necessary for the App to function and are based on your consent when using the App.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by the revised "Effective Date" at the top of this page.

Continued use of the App after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically.

11. No Sale of Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data. We do not engage in any monetization of user information.
